Our Story

How it all started...

Our North Branch First UMC began in 1855, when a group gathered in a home expressing a need for spiritual nurturing and growth. They took the step of faith with a vision of having a house of worship. In 1873 a white frame building was built on our present site. The spiritual journey continued and 1901 a new brick church was built and dedicated to God’s honor and glory. The vision was possible because of the sacrificing, giving and dedicated people.

Even the fire that happened in 1939 that gutted the sanctuary could not shut down the house of worship of the people called Methodists. Yes, we are compelled to having ministry.

The building and renovation committee was brought about so we can better serve our area. Its financing came by a Miracle Sunday giving.  A vision fulfilled.

Our Church has undergone many changes and continues to do so in a continuous ministry. We are a rural country church and we would hope to be able to continue in our current facility. We are a welcoming church and have served as an asset to the local community whom seek spiritual guidance.

Expanding the vision...

Keep and eye out for how we plan to be the hands and the feet of the community.
